Course overview

Studying Musical Theatre will see you undertake many facets of training to become highly skilled, musically adaptable, and equipped to enter professional life as a creative and flexible 21st century musical theatre performer. You will receive intensive practical training in acting and improvisation, speech, voice, singing, dance and movement. You’ll be exposed to diverse musical theatre styles and the essential musical skills of aural awareness training, music theory, and ensemble work specific to the genre. Thanks to our strong partnership with Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC), you’ll take part in productions that emulate professional standards, providing authentic performance experiences. Our teaching model binds education and industry training and encourages you to experiment to find your unique creative identity in an inclusive environment. We support you with practical professional experience both on-stage and backstage, and the opportunity to work and learn alongside top-tier performers, creatives and performing arts professionals. There is an identified shortage of professionally trained musical theatre performers throughout Australia and there is a growing demand for high-quality performers.
