By completing La Trobe's Bachelor of Nursing, you will: develop a strong foundation in acute care, chronic illness, Indigenous health, mental health, rehabilitation, community and emergency care, biosciences and research gain in-demand employability skills in leadership, time management, critical thinking and communication, giving you the confidence to make ethical clinical decisions with empathy and compassion tailor your skills with minors in mental health, child, family and community health or rural health benefit from placements with our partners, preparing you to step into employment once you graduate graduate ready to apply to become a registered nurse (RN) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Recent secondary education - VTAC prerequisite: Year 12 English prerequisite (25) - Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL.; Recent secondary education - UAC prerequisite: Year 12 subject prerequisite - Other - One of English Standard, English Advanced (Band 3), English as an Additional Language or Dialect (Band 4).; Non Year 12 - Vocational Education & Training: VET prerequisites - Course specific requirements - Subject proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.; Non Year 12 - Higher Education study: HE prerequisites - Course specific requirements - Subject proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.; International: IELTS - Course specific - IELTS of 7.0 with no individual band score less than 7.0 (can be across 2 sittings in a 6-month period, but no score can be below 6.5 and overall score must be 7 in both sittings); Note: This course may be subject to alternative or extra entry requirements depending on your life circumstances and/or work experience.
