Course overview
This postgraduate research degree includes coursework and a substantial research component culminating in the submission of a thesis. You may undertake the course in either a full-time or a part-time capacity; the standard time for completion is usually 18 months for a full-time student and three years for a part-time student. The coursework consists of four compulsory research training courses (Quantitative Research Methods, Qualitative Research Methods, Scholarly Reading and Writing and Developing a Research Proposal), which are prerequisites for your research project. These courses will provide opportunities to formulate substantial elements of your planned research project and develop necessary skills in critical analysis and scholarly writing.

Possession of a Bachelor's degree (AQF level 7 qualification); or in exceptional circumstances, an equivalent academic or professional background that is considered by the Dean of the School to be an appropriate preparation for independent study and research work at master's level.
