Course overview
The Bachelor of Media Production and Communication develops creative, technical and strategic capabilities in media production, storytelling, content creation, and digital communication. With industry readiness at its core, the course combines theory, practice, and professional connection through hands-on, project-based learning and industry-led briefs. Throughout this degree, you will collaborate across creative and design disciplines while building expertise in narrative production, audience engagement, media influence, and ethical, globally informed practice. You will also explore how psychology, messaging, and meaning shape audience experiences across platforms. From day one, you engage with emerging technologies, including generative AI and automation, equipping you with future-focused skills and the confidence to adapt in a rapidly evolving media landscape. Plus, you'll graduate with a professional portfolio or showreel that reflects real industry practice.

Academic entry requirement
1. Successful completion of at least 0.25 EFTSL at AQF level 6, 0.5 EFTSL at AQF level 5 or above, or equivalent; Australian secondary school certificate, or equivalent Senior Secondary qualification, or Baccalaureate Diploma; Academic IELTS 6.0 (no band less than 5.5) or equivalent; OR alternative entry requirements may be available. Alternative entry may include assessment and approval of prior study, or successful completion of a readiness assessment. 2. Year 12 (Australian secondary school certificate) or equivalent OR Successful completion of a Vocational qualification (AQF Level 4), or above OR Successful completion of at least 0.25 EFTSL at AQF level 6, 0.5 EFTSL at AQF level 5 or above, or equivalent OR Work life experience demonstrating the ability to undertake study at the required level which may include approval of prior study or successful completion of a readiness assessment.
