Course overview
Launch your research career. Join a passionate community of world-leading researchers. Pursue new knowledge.
Entry requirements
Requirements are recorded per intake year and per audience. Meeting them does not guarantee an offer.
Applicants must have a bachelor’s or master’s coursework degree from a recognised tertiary institution with a minimum average mark of 65% or a GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0. The Head of Postgraduate Studies for the relevant unit will approve entry into the Master of Research based on academic results and relevant experience. Special Admission Requirements All applicants for research degrees must submit a research proposal summarising the project they would like to pursue. We strongly recommend that applicants discuss their research proposal with their potential research supervisor before finalising their HDR application. The proposal should be 3-4 pages in length and include an introduction, literature review, research design/methodology, expected outcomes, and references. Applicants may consult Writing a Research Proposal Guide for assistance on writing their research proposal. The research proposal must be written in the applicants own words and all submissions may be checked for plagiarised material. Planning reference: missing 2027 requirements use the latest published requirements from 2026; newer explicit 2027 requirements take precedence.
