You’ll develop a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of historical and contemporary movements as well as different geographies and cultures in art history, and build on your knowledge of artworks and artists. You’ll learn about the origins of art and explore many different periods, such as the Italian Renaissance to Baroque, modern and contemporary Australian, Asian and international art, the history and theory of photography, film and video, Indigenous Australian creative practice and ways of knowing, and more. Throughout this study, you'll develop a broad base of knowledge that sets you up for a career in Australia or anywhere around the world. In the practical components of this course, you’ll be able to apply your knowledge to develop exhibition concepts for a range of cultural settings, including museums, galleries and site-specific exhibitions.
