It is a fast growing area within the information and communication technology (ICT) field. According to AustCyber, Australia will need 17,000 additional cyber security professionals by 2026 to counter the growing threat of cyber crime. Internationally, the number of unfilled cyber security jobs worldwide grew from 1 million to 3.5 million between 2003 and 2021.
